Azur swimsuit

A year ago I published my first post 🙂 and I had no idea where it would lead me. I confess that when I started I didn’t knew if it would be a blog mainly about sewing or not, as sewing was still very recent in my life. It turned out that one year after my passion for sewing grew more than I could have expected and with it the constant search for improvement and learning.

For this constant search the blog played a key role because it allowed me to get and share ideas and knowledge as well as inspiration with other bloggers. To be honest, I have to admit that, as a beginner, I received more from them than the other way around, but I hope one day I will be able to return or help others the same way. Thank you so much 😉 Some of these bloggers I even met personally and isn’t that great when the blogosphere became “real life”? 🙂

One year ago if you said to me that I would be making clothes for myself or a swimsuit it was very likely that I began to laugh, but I made them and I still haven’t shared the swimsuits I made for the girls for the summer holidays.

The pattern is the Azur swimsuit by Titchy Threads and Petit a Petit and Family, also I need to say that for someone (like me) that never made one before, the instructions were really good and helpful. It comes with several options that allows you to make it totally customized and it may be reversible or not. I opted for reversible with halter top and a bow in the back.

As you can see the Azur (and the girls wearing it) had a great time in Portugal both in the seaside and in the countryside.

I made a size 5 for both girls, but I think I should have made the back strap a bit smaller because the girls’ chest measurements are a size 3. Totally my fault as there are instructions to customise the fit, but I believe (or want to) this way it will last longer 😉

Thank you so much for reading, for your nice comments and support during this year 🙂

  1. Happy blog-iversary! It’s hard to believe you’ve only been doing this for a year. I really enjoy all your posts and am so happy that I have gotten to know you through sewing 🙂 You are an inspiration and I love all of the beautiful things you make for yourself and your girls! ❤

    • Thank you so much Eva 🙂 I was pretty scared to try it for the same reason as you, but I can tell you that it was not that difficult and you are right they look better than the store ones, so it’s worth it 😉
